Valerie Weber is President and Founder of Great Road Leadership, LLC. She believes that the true power of coaching is found in the relationship between client and coach. Through this supportive and affirming connection, the client can uncover his or her untapped potential to forge new pathways to success.

Throughout her thirty-year career, Valerie has held senior leadership positions in academic medicine and leading integrated health systems, including Chair, Senior Vice Dean for Educational Affairs, and Dean. Her areas of expertise include executive coaching, change management, leadership development, physician recruitment and onboarding, health care quality and patient safety, new program development, and undergraduate medical education. As an internist and physician leader herself, she is well positioned to assist other physician leaders who are navigating organizational and career challenges. She is an accomplished mentor and supporter of the advancement of women and minorities in leadership positions.

Valerie earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Washington and Jefferson college where she graduated summa cum laude and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She completed her MD degree at the University of Pennsylvania and a master’s degree in Healthcare Administration from the Harvard Chan School of Public Health. She has completed executive coach training at the Coaching Leader Program at St. Joseph’s University’s Haub Business School’s Center for Professional Development and is certified with the International Coaching Federation.  Valerie has taught at Drexel’s Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine program, a global program which provides executive leadership training for women in academic medicine, and has served on the administrative board for the Council of Deans.

Rose Marie Maruca, RN, bsn, mba, Pcc

EXECUTIVE COACH AND HEALTHCARE CONSULTANT

Rose Maruca is an executive coach, consultant, and facilitator focused on leadership, communication, team development, and organizational culture. Rose’s clinical training and business background provide her with a deep understanding of the challenges faced by healthcare leaders across a variety of settings. She is a tireless advocate for helping individuals become their best selves.

Throughout her thirty-year career in healthcare, Rose has held senior-level management positions at leading health systems, consulting organizations, and industry, with expertise in quality improvement, strategic planning, partnership development, marketing, corporate communications, organizational design, and change management.

Rose facilitates health literacy and clinician/patient communication skills educational sessions for all healthcare team members. For business professionals, she conducts workshops on strategic planning, project management, creating and leading high performing teams, inter-professional collaboration, patient experience, giving and receiving feedback, and productive meeting management.

A magna cum laude MBA graduate of Saint Joseph’s University, Rose also completed a Certificate in Health Care Innovation from the Perelman School of Medicine of the University of Pennsylvania’s Department of Medical Ethics and Health Policy. She is also an instructor in their Master’s in Healthcare Innovation program. Rose is a graduate of the Coaching Leader Program at Saint Joseph’s University’s Haub School of Business and is a Professional Certified Coach, recognized by the International Coaching Federation. She holds a BSN, with honors, from Thomas Jefferson University, and a BA in Business Administration from Rutgers University.

Rose serves on the Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Committee of Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice and the Community Advisory Council of Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey’s She is an active member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, Academy on Communication in Healthcare, the Beryl Institute, and the International Coaching Federation as well as a peer editor for the Journal of Patient Experience.
